Walking Tour of Helsinki – 2 – 5 July 2015

There is plenty of public transportation but the weather was so nice we walked everyone! First day clocked over 10 miles.

Uspenskin Cathedral

This red brick church was built in the Russian Byzantine style in 1868 and is the largest Russian Orthodox church in Western Europe.

The wooden arch, Kamppi Chapel of Silence is a Lutheran chapel in busy Narinkka Square.

I didn’t want to leave Helsinki without experiences a sauna. Tom took the kids shopping and I headed off. First I walked to Kulttuurisauna (modern, Japanese influence) and it was closed for another 2 hours. I then walked to the older more traditional spa called, Kotiharjun Sauna. Not many people there on Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon so I was able to take a few photos. Only a few women in the sauna, yes, you go nude and yes I would do it again. 🙂
