Tom wanted to show me the “solitude of the lonely Wicklow Mountains”. Little did we know it was the annual hike for the students at St. Gerard’s School. We cleaned up on the way down.
Four hour hike on a Saturday afternoon to the top of Djouce mountain with Ciaran and Bri. About 16 km (10 miles). The hike is on a section of the Wicklow Way. At the top, windy and cold. 725 meters high (2,300 ft).
Drove to Woodenbridge Hotel on a Sunday afternoon. Had a nice pub lunch and then off to explore the monastic city of Glendalough ruin. One of my favorite photos! A church on our drive home, not part of the ruin.
